Major Hangups over the iPod Phone

The iPod Mobile Phone got a lot of buzz earlier this year, but the fact that a number of wireless operators, including Verizon Wireless and Cingular Wireless, have shown reluctance in supporting the Motorola/Apple joint effort. What’s behind the beef? Money, of course. Motorola and Apple want their customers to place any digital song file they already own on their phones for free. However, the wireless operators want customers to pay to put music on phones at prices ranging from 99 cents to $3. At this point, the wireless operators look to have the upper hand in this battle.
